The 1st
June 06 will be remembered as a red letter day for Clevedon
Salerooms as they sold a
Regency rosewood drum table for a record £235,000, the
highest amount ever achieved by the salerooms.
The saleroom was hushed as the
bidding went higher and higher, achieving a price they had
hardly dared dreamed of. Not to be outdone, many
of the other lots also achieved excellent prices.
New
legislation has come into effect covering
ARTIST
RE-SALE RIGHTS.
Living
artists are now entitled to receive a re-sale royalty each
time their work is bought or sold by an art market
professional (since February 2006). Any work selling for
1000 euros or more is subject to an additional charge.

Bids are only available for Fine Arts Sales, not our
fortnightly General Sales.
