Our reaction to the January Covid-19 announcement

In light of the latest significant Covid-19 announcement of the evening of Monday 4th January, we felt it best to respond quickly and clearly to answer any queries which our valued sellers and buyers may have.
Our Thursday 7th January auction has been online since Friday 18th December, and has received strong interest over the festive period, aided by around 5,000 images, and condition reports for every lot.
Absentee (commission) bids can still be left via email and telephone, and bidders can participate live as per usual via www.the-saleroom.com
We are pleased to offer telephone bids, subject to availability, on selected lots valued at £100 or over – strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Bids must be booked by 4pm on the day prior to sale.
Our second sale in January will take place on 28th January (rather than our previously scheduled 21st) - this is to allow additional viewing time online, and to enable us to prepare the condition reports and extra images which enhance the sale.
We have cancelled our valuation days on Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th January. We will however be operating a secure ‘drop and go’ system by prior arrangement for items already valued. To participate in this service please contact us at email@example.com
We continue to operate a safe 'Click/Phone and Collect' service for collection of purchases in person and via courier collections. We can also provide quotes for in-house postage and packing for non-breakable purchases (Special Delivery under 2kg). Please note that since entry to the building is prohibited, payments for purchases must be made remotely – either by phone (debit card only) or bank transfer (details on invoice) .
We feel that this model offers the best possible scenario for buyers and sellers alike, given the circumstances. We thank all our customers for their continued patience and support.
We will staff the office throughout this latest lockdown during our standard opening hours 9am-1pm and 2pm-5pm Monday to Friday, to respond promptly to the needs of all our customers.

Roaring start to 2021 at Clevedon Salerooms
Clevedon Salerooms held their first sale of the New Year on Thursday 7th January, a sale of Antiques and Collectables, at the Kenn Road Auction Centre. Despite the newly-imposed lockdown the auctioneers managed to achieve a selling rate of 90% thanks to condition reports and multliple images of every lot. With over 800 lots on offer, online and commission bidders had plenty to choose from and lively bidding on the day saw the auctioneers rewarded with some strong prices.
